Boracay once again made headlines when it was named as the Best Island in Asia by luxury travel magazine Conde Nast early October.
Voted by the readers themselves, Boracay was described as an itty-bitty island in the Western Philippines that is as close to the tropical ideal with gentle coastlines and transporting sunsets. It also regarded its powdery white sand and shallow azure water as the main draw of Boracay to tourists.
Other Philippine islands – Cebu and Palawan – were also included in the list.
Boracay underwent a 6-month closure in 2018 as part of the government’s rehabilitation program. The District Boracay is one of the first few resorts allowed to operate in the island when it reopened last October 26, 2018.
