Boracay is one of the Philippines’ best island destinations. Summer would probably be your best bet to come here, with its famous White Beach, but this is a place you can visit anytime of the year. Of course – each season is best for something, and we’ll be sharing them to you to help you plan your next trip!
Amihan Season
Amihan season brings the northeast monsoon that starts around October and ends around May or June. This brings the cool wind from the northeast which makes it the ideal climate for your vacation. Around this period is probably the best time to visit the island if you want the best weather conditions for kitesurfing in Bulabog beach and to experience the white beach. However, the cool wind can’t beat the heat during the summer months which is everything but unexpected.
So what if you want to have the same weather without the large crowds? Book in between! A quick tip is booking just right when Habagat season ends and Amihan begins. Around this time, approximately before October ends, should be less people but with the right weather conditions if you time it correctly.
Alternatively, you can also go when Habagat is about to begin, and Amihan is about to end (Around June) but there’s always the risk of having unexpected rain.
Habagat Season
After the northeast monsoon, comes the southwest monsoon (Habagat) that occupies the rest of the year, roughly from June to October. This season is accompanied by hot and humid air with the occasional showers.
The waves on the White Beach can be a bit stronger too during this time of the year, so keep that in mind if you wanna take a dip.
Fortunately for those looking for a good deal on their chosen hotel in Boracay, this is what we consider the lean season. There’s also considerably less people visiting Boracay this time of year which is great for those that wants less interaction with crowds. It also means is lower prices and a lot more options and deals for those who like those sort of things. A quick tip for booking during lean season is to check forecasts and book the dates you think will be sunny. After all, even if it’s the rainy season, it doesn’t mean all rain and no sunshine. Ordering room service or dining in is still a great way to enjoy your stay. Watching the rain and having coffee in your beachfront café isn’t so bad also. And there’s nothing a good massage can’t fix.
At the end of the day, if you still can’t decide when to go to Boracay, just shrug it off and go whenever is convenient. This island is a year round destination so you can’t go wrong any day. Visiting this place once isn’t enough anyway so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to see the weather for yourself.
